Life Change, Part 3 – The Response

One week ago, I experienced God in a major way. Months and months of seeking, listening, and discerning paid off when God revealed His divine will to me.

I had sold out and submitted to God in every way that week, and He provided a job opportunity to me. As soon as the phone call came through, I dropped to my knees and praised Jesus for doing what I knew all along He would do – provide.

I want everyone out there to know today that we have a providential God, but He does not work on our time. God works in God’s time. This is more often troubling to us. To give an example from my situation, God showed up only after I felt like I had waited and waited with no response. However, with respect to my ministry at FPC, God showed up at one of the worst possible times. I’m right in the middle of the Spring semester with tons of plans for the rest of the year, but God’s time came, and in obedience I had to follow.

In summary, the fact that months of contemplation and struggling with this decision culminated last week brought Proverbs 3:5-6 to reality for me:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

With all your heart. In all your ways. He will make your path straight, if you’re willing to do what it takes to go down it.

God bless you.
